Lavigne is involved in a number of charitable organizations/ activities. Some of these charities include:

    On September 14, 2010, Lavigne introduced “The Avril Lavigne Foundation.” This foundation aims to help young people who suffer from serious illnesses and disabilities. Her foundation works with other organizations and partners with a number of them. The Avril Lavigne Foundation has partnered with companies like Make-A-Wish Foundation, Ester Seals and Erase MS. Lavigne was inspired to create this foundation because of her work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. She is always looking for ways to give back to the community.
