Abbey Dawn In July 2008, Avril Lavigne’s clothing line, Abbey Dawn, launched at Kohl’s featuring a back-to-school collection. Lavigne’s clothing line is named after a childhood nickname her father gave her. The pieces in her collection were inspired by her own closet. Abbey Dawn incorporates everything teenage girls love- skulls, zebra print, hot pink and black. By October 2008, she had her own retail outlet in the Harajuku shopping district of Tokyo. The store sold Lavigne’s clothing as well as her CDs and DVDs and accessories designed by Lavigne. On September 14, 2009, Lavigne took her collection to New York where she was a part of New York Fashion Week. In January 2010, Lavigne worked with Disney to create Alice in Wonderland designs for Abbey Dawn. Currently, Abbey Dawn is available internationally through the website www.abbeydawn.com.
Black Star/ Forbidden Rose On March 7, 2009, Lavigne released her first fragrance, Black Star which was created by Procter & Gamble Prestige Products. The tag line for Black Star is “follow your dreams.” The fragrance is a combination of pink hibiscus, black plum and dark chocolate. Lavigne’s first fragrance won the 2010 Best “Women Scent Mass” by Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW). In July 2010, Lavigne came out with a second fragrance, Forbidden Rose. What many people don’t know about this second perfume is that it took two years to develop. Forbidden Rose encompasses red apple, winepeach, black pepper, lotus flower, heliotrope, shellflower, praline agreement, sandalwood and vanilla. Lavigne’s second fragrance has the same message as her first, however the tagline is “Dare to Discover.” Lavigne is planning to launch a third fragrance in August of 2011. _______________ "I just love clothes and colors and patterns.
